Where: Cragganmore, Ballindalloch, Speyside

About: Cragganmore Distillery is located in the beautiful Spey Valley in Spesyide, and nestles on the banks of the legendary salmon river, the river Spey. John Smith chose the location precisely because of the plentiful supply of spring water, and the connection to the Great Highland Railway line. In fact, Cragganmore was the first Speyside distillery to take advantage of railway transport as a means of bringing in raw materials, and sending out their delicious, unique malt.

Cragganmore is one of the few distilleries that boast flat top stills which gives Cragganmore it’s unique character and makes it a must see for any visitor to Scotland. Cragganmore Single Malt is the most complex Speyside Malt. It is, however, in limited supply as it is one of Speyside’s smaller distilleries. The Distillery’s unique flat topped spirit stills and spirit that is slowly condensed in traditional wooden worm-tubs, promotes Cragganmore’s complexity.
